Rental and leasing divide is blurring, claims TLS

Date: 09 October 2006

CV rental specialist TLS claims the lines are blurring between rental and leasing contracts, with 60% of its vehicles being rented for six months or longer, up 10% on this time last year.

"Where rental is gaining ground is against short- and medium-term leases of six-12 months," said TLS marketing director Sean Welham.

"While spot rental is an important part of our business, a shift has taken place and it's become a much smaller element. Fleets are starting to look at rental in the same way as other acquisition methods."
