Satnav tops driver wish-list

Customer satisfaction firm JD Power has carried out a survey into what options drivers really want on their next company car.

Interviewing 4000 German and British drivers, an overwhelming 75% questioned plumped for satnav, followed closely by parking sensors. Consumers also favoured adaptive headlights and technology that highlighted vehicles in the blind spot.

German participants were more interested in emerging technology. One half preferred park assist, while consumers from the UK preferred established options like a CD changer.

Both nations were also given a specific amount of money to spend on options to see if their wish list altered once the options list price became a consideration. Once a budget was included, satnav plummeted from first to a lowly 12th (see table).
