Long-time ACFO chairman Tony Leigh has resigned with immediate effect.

Leigh has headed the fleet manager's organisation formerly known as the Association of Car Fleet Operators for the past 11 years and is now stepping down for personal reasons.

"I have enjoyed my time as an ACFO director and as chairman," said Leigh, "during which I have seen the organisation change and grow so that it is now deservedly the premier organisation for fleet operators. I wish the organisation every success in the future."

He added that he felt that it was now time for someone new to take ACFO forward and ensure the continuing success of the organisation.

As yet, no successor has been put forward, but a reshuffle is expected in the next week.

ACFO has 850 members who are collectively responsible for more than 675,000 vehicles on UK fleets.
