43% call for phone-drivers to be jailed

Date: 17 September 2007

A surprisingly high number of fleet managers have been supportive of the tougher stance on phone-driving proposed by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The CPS suggested that those using hand-held phones while driving should be charged with dangerous driving, which can attract a jail sentence.

The BusinessCar.co.uk survey revealed 43% were for jailing offenders with 57% against.
