4x4 demand dips for National Car Rental

National Car Rental has taken small 4x4s off its main rental fleet due to a lack of demand, despite an overall increase in business.
National's UK sales director Lorraine Farnon attributes this fall to rental customers being more image-conscious and not wanting to be seen as harming the environment with an off-roader.
However, while National can and does offer 'green' rental options to those firms requesting them, Farnon said NCR does not keep a stock of hybrids or specifically greener cars because there is not the general demand for them.
