Businesses brace for Budget

Date: 21 March 2007

Stay tuned to www.BusinessCar.co.uk/Budget2007 from 12.30pm today as Chancellor Gordon Brown announces his Budget for 2007.

His 11th and final swansong before his grand relocation from number 11 to 10 Downing Street is expected to continue to target motorist and thus businesses, to force them to reconsider and pay for vehicles polluting activities.

It has already been mooted that road tax wil be doubled for high polluters, while fuel duty and Authorised Mileage Allowance Payments (AMAP) are expected to be tweaked.

AMAP rates will no doubt shift to lessen the current tax advantage gained by opting out of company cars to cash allowances and ECOS schemes. The Government estimates that those opting out choose cars that emit on average 20g/km more than the average company car.

Visit www.BusinessCar.co.uk/Budget2007 for the updates for 12.30pm to see how the Chancellor will affect your business.
