CV SHOW: Ranger pick-up adds 3.0-litre diesel engine

Date: 24 April 2007

Ford has added a new 156PS 3.0-litre diesel engine and automatic gearbox to the Ranger line-up.

Ford has launched the engine (although not the gearbox) in a special edition Ranger dubbed Wildtrak. The Wildtrak gives Ford a rival to the high-spec Nissan Navara Aventura, Mitsubishi L200 Warrior and Toyota Hilux Invincible.

The Wildtrak features body cladding, heated leather seats, sports grille, roof rails, parking sensors and sports steering wheel.

Prices will be released nearer the pick-up's August on-sale date.
