Disposal firm aims to have rivals quaking

Date: 30 October 2007

Disposal firm Autoquake is gearing up for a massive expansion in the next couple of years, going from dealing with 3000 cars in the past year to 3000-5000 per month.

The firm, which already works with the likes of Sommerfield and Zenith, is talking to various top leasing companies and hopes to secure contracts in the coming months. Autoquake claims 5% higher returns than traditional disposal routes by selling direct to customers through its website www.autoquake.co.uk. The site gives a detailed description of the car and condition, including up to 70 photos.

The firm this year took on Masterlease's 1400-car site in Birmingham, adding to the 150-car Bradford operation. "Over time we'll probably expand to the south as well," said marketing vice president Natalie Mead. "It feels like we're on the tipping point between a big and small company."
