The start point for the best source of fleet information

Drivers not feeling pressure

Date: 27 May 2007

Almost one in three business drivers don't regularly check their tyres and 11% never even give it a thought, according to the latest research from Arval, which surveyed 800 drivers.

"Kicking tyres is supposed to be a national obsession, but maintaining them properly certainly isn't and instead its something certain business drivers seem to completely ignore," said Mike Waters, Head of Market Analysis. "If tyres are not regularly checked, at best a company will take a hit on its fuel expenditure, at worst it could lead to drivers being banned or even worse involved in collisions. To avoid any corporate risk employers need to make sure they are meeting their obligations in this important area."
