The start point for the best source of fleet information

Ford Kuga details revealed

Date: 05 September 2007

The Kuga, Ford's new small 4x4 will go on sale in the UK priced from about £19,000.

Ford's rival to the Vauxhall Antara will be officially unveiled at next week's Frankfurt motor show and go on sale in the UK next summer with a choice of two engine and two trim levels.

The two launch engines will be Ford's 136PS 2.0-litre diesel and Volvo's 220PS 2.5 turbo petrol engine. BusinessCar's sources claim the car will be launched only in Zetec and Titanium spec, traditionally high trim levels in the Ford line-up, hinting toward a high level of standard equipment.

Although launched with a manual gearbox on the diesel, Ford is expected to launch an automatic gearbox mated to the 2.0-litre diesel at the Frankfurt show. This will first be available in the S-max, Galaxy and Mondeo toward the end of 2007, with the Kuga joining in late 2008.

The Ford Kuga follows closely the styling of the Iosis X concept car revealed at the Paris motor show a year ago.
