Fuel price rises begin to bite

Date: 21 May 2007

Businesses are beginning to worry about the rapid increases in fuel prices that have seen the average price of unleaded shoot up by nearly 10 pence per litre, closing the gap to diesel, which has risen by more than six pence per litre.

A litre of unleaded is now averaging 95.3p compared with 86.3p in February, according to fleet management and fuel card provider Arval, while diesel stands at 96.7, up from 90.6.

In the same period, LPG has only moved up by 0.3ppl to 46.2p.
