GENEVA SHOW: Land Rover launches diesel auto Freelander

Date: 06 March 2007

Land Rover Freelander

Land Rover has been busy tweaking at this year's Geneva motor show.

The big news on the stand was the arrival of a diesel automatic Freelander that shares the same six-speed self-shifter as the 3.2-litre petrol. The 160PS diesel auto average 33.2mpg on the combined cycle with prices beginning from £22,305 when it goes on sale next month.

Meanwhile, inside improvements were the order of the day for the Discovery and RR Sport. Both gain more interior lumber and colour choice, while the Sport non-supercharged V8 gets dropped for 2008.

Finally, the workhorse now has a new 2.4-litre engine, six-speed manual, new interior and uprated ventilation.
