LibDems appoint Susan Kramer as shadow transport secretary

Date: 04 July 2007

Liberal Democrat leader Menzies Campbell has reshuffled his shadow cabinet following Labour's cabinet announcement at the end of last week and the Tory Party's reshuffle two days ago.

Campbell is the third party leader to put a woman in charge of transport issues by appointing Susan Kramer who was previously shadow trade and industry secretary.

Campbell also appointed Vincent Cable as shadow chancellor and Chris Huhne as shadow secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs.

Campbell said: "We must continue to attack Labour and the Conservatives for their cosy consensus on key issues from the environment and civil liberties to nuclear energy and the war in Iraq."
