The start point for the best source of fleet information

McBiodiesel hits the road

Date: 02 July 2007

Fast-food giant McDonald's is to run its fleet of UK lorries on biodiesel derived from the firm's supply of cooking oil.

By next year, all 155 of its lorries will be using the fuel, starting with 45 based at its Hampshire distribution centre.

McDonald's claims the move to biodiesel, which combines cooking oil with rapeseed oil, will save 1650 tonnes of carbon a year.
