The start point for the best source of fleet information

Minimise fuel costs with free driver's guide

Date: 12 March 2007

Lease firm Alphabet is offering companies free copies of a driver's guide to minimising fuel costs.

Called Fuel Sense, the guide offers sensible advice such as trying to avoid filling up at expensive motorway service stations, and turning off the engine is stuck in heavy traffic. By following the advice, Alphabet claims drivers can cut fuel consumption and therefore fuel bills by as much as 10%.

"Educating drivers about buying and using petrol and diesel carefully is a key step in containing fleet fuel costs," said Richard Schooling, commercial director of Alphabet.

Employers can order copies of the guide from Alphabet by calling 0870 50 50 100 or emailing a request to alphabet@alphabet.co.uk.
