NCAP five-star showing for Mondeo and Tiguan

Date: 26 September 2007

Ford's new Mondeo and the new VW Tiguan have both been awarded the maximum five stars for adult occupant protection in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests.

The two new models both also achieved an impressive four out of five for child occupant protection and two out of four for pedestrian protection.

The new Hyundai i30 and VW Caddy were also tested, both recording four stars for adult occupant protection and three for child occupant protection, though they did also receive two stars for pedestrian protection.

See next week's BusinessCar magazine for the first road test of VW's new Tiguan 4x4, plus a Best-in-Class costs analysis of the i30 versus three of its rivals.
