The start point for the best source of fleet information

New Mondeo prices revealed

Date: 26 February 2007   |   Author: John Mahoney

Priced £300 below the car it replaces, Ford has effectively waged war with the rest of the upper medium segment in a bid to retain the class sales crown.

Prices now begin at just £14,995 for the base 110PS 1.6-litre petrol in new 'Edge' trim, but even in entry trim expect few visits to the option list.

Edge trim comes with an incredible specification that sees ESP, aircon, cruise, power heated mirrors and remote locking as standard.

Upgrading to a Zetec costs £1000 and gains 16-inch alloys, fogs and an upgraded aircon system.

Plush Ghia models are a further £1250, upsizing the alloys to 17-inches, while introducing auto lamps and wipers as well as mood lighting and Sony sound system.

Finally at the top of the range Titanium X trim, some £2000 more than Ghia, bags leather and bendy lamps.

The muscular top of the range 220PS turbo petrol is only available on Ghia and Titanium X trims.

The Mondeo will be the first application of the Ford sytem to stop mis-fuelling that closes valves in the fuel filler neck when it detects the wrong nozzle.

The all-new model goes on sale in June.
