PBR LATEST: Free fuel tax hike

Date: 09 October 2007

Free fuel

The 2007 Pre-Budget Report has revealed a significant hike in the tax on free fuel with a rise in the company car fuel benefit charge from £14,400 to £16,900.

The £2500 rise will come into effect on 6 April 2008 and will further tax drivers out of free fuel and "enhance the environmental incentives to drive fewer miles".
