Seat Tribu images leaked

Date: 07 September 2007

BusinessCar has obtained leaked images of Seat's secret Freelander-rival days before next week's Frankfurt motor show.

Seat had hoped its secret 4x4 Tribu concept would take the motor show by storm until these images of the show car were leaked on the internet.

Styled by new design chief and ex-Lamborghini man, Luc Donckerwolke, the three-door design revolutionises the Spanish brand's trademark styling. Gone are the soft lines ditched for sharper aggressive angles.

The Tribu also introduces a technical advance by the Volkswagen subsidiary. In future Seat drivers will be able to tailor engine mapping, suspension settings and gearbox speed to adapt optimally to its surroundings, whether the car is in the city, motorway or offroad.

Seat insiders stress the green light has yet to be given for a production model, though rumours persist that the Spaniards will launch a small off-roader to follow in the wheel tracks of parent company VW's Tiguan.
