Volvo's Efficiency to branch out beyond C30

Date: 19 October 2007

Volvo is looking at rolling out its green 'Efficiency' branding beyond the C30 that debuted at last month's Frankfurt motor show.

The C30 Efficiency is a version of the 1.6-litre diesel that will arrive in the UK next year with CO2 emissions that drop from 129g/km to 119 thanks to changes to gear ratios and aerodynamics, plus low rolling resistance tyres. "If we can do it on C30, the basics are there to adapt to other models," said a spokeswoman.

Despite the continuing absence of incentives, the Swedish brand is also making biofuel-powered Flexfuel versions of most of its range available, with the exception of the XC70, XC90 and C30.
