Audi produces greener, quicker A4

Audi claims the new hot version of its A4, the S4, emits 30% less CO2 than its predecessor but is half a second quicker to 62mph, taking 5.1secs.

Emissions from the 333PS 3.0-litre V6 engine, which replaces the outgoing model's V8, are 225g/km, while economy improves from 21.2 to 29.1mpg.

Due in April, the S4 will be priced from around £36,000, and it makes its worldwide bow at the upcoming motor show in Paris.
