Audi upgrades A4 and A5 engines

Date: 07 August 2008

Audi A4

Audi's A4 is now available with a 170PS version of its 2.0-litre TDI engine in addition to the 120PS and 140PS versions.

Priced from £24,600, it's capable of 0-62 in 8.3secs, and achieves economy of 53.3mpg and emissions of 140g/km.

The new unit will be available in both front-wheel drive and Quattro formats, and in SE and S-line trim. It will not be available on the entry-level standard trim, however.

Audi has also replaced the 1.8-litre 170PS engine in the A5 with a 2.0-litre 180PS version.

CO2 reduces from 169g/km to 154g/km, while fuel consumption is improved by 3mpg with the engine change.

The new engine will be available in standard and sport trims for £26,710 and £27,660 respectively.
