Boris invests £360,000 to boost interest in electric

Date: 09 December 2008

London is to gain 70 new electric vehicle charging points at a cost of £360,000, London Mayor Boris Johnson announced last week.

The points will be installed across 12 boroughs, with Ealing the biggest beneficiary getting 22 new points ahead of Greenwich with 10. The 70 points will be in addition to the existing 29 in London.

The cost of using the charging points varies from station to station, with some costing up to a flat subscription-type fee of £360 a year and others being free. See www.newride.org.uk for a map of charging points in London with details of charges and contact details.
