BUDGET 2008: Visit BusinessCar.co.uk for the latest news

Date: 12 March 2008

Alistair Darling

Chancellor Alistair Darling will give his first full Budget speech on Wednesday 12 March at 12.30pm, and the one thing that is guaranteed is that many of the new schemes and taxes announced will be green-focused.

Fuel duty is expected to rise 2ppl as planned with the Chancellor unlikely to bow to pressure from several motoring organisations to freeze fuel duty.

Meanwhile, a decision on AMAP rates would be greatly welcomed by the industry as they have been under review for some time.

An announcement on the confirmation of the system for tax relief on business spending on cars is also expected.
