Nottingham Chamber of Commerce has indicated it will consider legal action against the introduction of a city wide parking tax.

"We have a meeting of our members this week where we will discuss what action to take and this could include legal intervention," said John Dowson, head of policy and representation for the chamber of commerce.

Nottingham council claims 70-80% of businesses in the city will not be affected by the charge. Only companies with 10 or more parking spaces will be liable for the levy.

The chamber of commerce has suggested a number of businesses will consider relocating should the charge come in. With only larger companies being affected, this could see major employers moving out of the city.
