Cadillac reveals CTS

Date: 15 August 2008

Cadillac has today unveiled its new CTS estate and the Audi Q5-rivalling SRX in California. Both are expected to go on sale in the UK in late 2009.

The CTS is expected to come with a 250PS V6 diesel engine that is appearing in the saloon in 2009. A 311PS 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine should also be available.

The estate version of the CTS is based on the same wheelbase as the saloon, that goes on sale over here on 1 September, but works out to be 7mm shorter overall.

UK specification is said to come in one trim only and include a hand-stitched leather interior, a 40GB hard drive and satnav.

Cadillac also released images of the next generation of its large 4x4, the SRX. The new car is based heavily on the Provoq concept that made its UK debut at the recent British motor show in London.

The production version will make its debut at a major motor show this year, thought to be Paris.

It's not expected to be available to customers until late 2009 or early 2010.
