Vauxhall will reveal a new Movano and a new Astravan next year and has confirmed there will be a replacement for the Combo shortly after.

Speaking at the CV Show Vauxhall managing director and Bill Parfitt, who is also GM's European van boss, revealed the new Movano would include a rear-wheel drive derivative capable of going beyond the 3.5 tonne gross vehicle weight level.

"We're getting ready for new Movano. The new one will have a heavy rear-drive version as well as the regular version. Again we'll do it with Renault and Nissan," said Parfitt, however he stopped short of saying exactly when the van would be revealed.

Parfitt revealed the new Astra car, due next year, would also have a van version. He added: "There will also be a Combo replacement and we will make the decision on that in a couple of months. We're not rushing to replace that van because it still does very well."

Parfitt hinted that the new Combo could come in two sizes to rival the new Renault Kangoo.

Commenting on the market outlook he said: "The next two-three years for commercial vehicles is predicted to be strong and internet deliveries have driven the market. There's no sign of the CV market cooling.

"We're up 4.7% on a market that's up 2.5%."
