DETROIT SHOW: Saab reveals Freelander rival

Date: 14 January 2008

Saab has revealed plans to enter into the small off-roader market with its 9-4X 'BioPower' concept.

The concept features a 2.0-litre 304PS engine that would run on unleaded, E85 bioethanol, or a mixture of both.

Similar in size to the Land Rover Freelander, speculation is the 9-4X will be competitively priced and on the road by the end of 2009.
