DETROIT SHOW: Upgraded Mazda RX-8

Date: 14 January 2008

Mazda has unveiled the latest version of the RX-8 at the motor show in Detroit.

While the core of the car remains the same, several aspects have been tweaked internally and externally for the first time since its launch in 2003. A new sport package will also now be available.

Changes to the outside of the car feature restyled front bumpers, new front and rear lights, and 19-inch alloys. Internally, a Bose stereo as featured on the MX-5 and Bluetooth are now on offer.

The sport package will include sport-tuned suspension, Recaro sport seats and styling such as front and rear spoilers and side sills.

The facelifted model is anticipated to be available in summer of this year and prices are expected to be similar to the current RX-8.
