ESP boosted by NCAP

Date: 14 November 2008

Crash test body Euro NCAP has announced that ESP will need to be standard across the majority of a model's range if it is to score five stars.

The organisation's revamped testing programme, launching with the next set of results in February 2009, will give an overall score for a model, rather than the current separate adult occupant protection, child occupant protection and pedestrian protection star ratings.

Euro NCAP will also announce the first results of its new whiplash tests in late November.
