Fiat restructures fleet department

Date: 15 July 2008

Adam Pumfrey

Fiat is to work more closely with contract hire companies in the UK and Europe.

Agreements have been signed with ALD, Arval, Daimler Chrysler Financial Services, GE, ING, Leaseplan and Masterlease.

Three new fleet account managers based in Turin will work closely with fleet teams all across Europe.

In response, Fiat UK has appointed two new contract hire and leasing managers - one for the north of the country and one for the south.

Paul Frain was Fiat's corporate sales manager until April of this year, while Sam Watkins moves from a fleet and corporate sales role at Kia.

"The contract hire sector is growing across Europe, and Fiat's approach will strengthen relationships with all providers and improve sales," said Adam Pumfrey, Fiat's fleet and remarketing director.

"Fiat in Italy has set up the entire programme in association with the support of all the main markets, which will mean greater partnership opportunities at a pan European and country level.

"The appointments we have made in the UK will further support this Europe-wide initiative."
