Fleet mileage falls but fleet demand expected to rise

Date: 12 June 2008

Company car mileage has fallen, with employees working in the office or at home, according to a survey by GE Fleet Services.

95.4% of respondents gave rising fuel costs as the reason for the reduced mileage, with improved communication technology and congestion also mentioned.

Demand for company cars is expected to rise in the next year, however, with 72.4% of fleet decision-makers expecting requirements to increase.

96.7% of fleet decision-makers also still rate the company car as important to those who need to travel for work.
