Ford shuffles its management pack

Ford has named Joe Greenwell as its new chairman and Nigel Sharp as managing director of the British sector of the brand.

The two are replacing Roelant de Waard, who has held both roles since February 2006. De Waard is moving to the position of vice-president of sales for Ford Europe.

Greenwell moves to the job from the position of vice president of governmental affairs, where he had been since 2005. Prior to that he was the chairman and CEO of Jaguar and Land Rover.

Sharp brings his experience as Ford's sales director to the role. He has also worked in finance and marketing for the brand. Jon Wellsman replaces him as sales director.

All three men take up their new positions on the 1 January 2009.
