Hybrid residuals should hold no fear, says CAP

Date: 17 March 2008

Hybrid vehicles are holding their residual value just as well as petrol and diesel equivalents, according to Mark Cowling, CAP's business development manager, speaking at last week's Institute of Car Fleet Management conference

After three years/60,000 miles, the average hybrid holds 36.5% of its value, with the corresponding petrol and diesel vehicles holding 36.9% and 36.8% respectively.

Cowling said: "These vehicles are not to be afraid of." That's illustrated by the fact that the average hybrid value has risen by £478 over the past year to £22,738.

Meanwhile, congratulations were due at the conference as certificates were awarded to the latest group of candidates to successfully complete ICFM training courses.

The students were: Tina Botterill, Toshiba; David Bushnell, Claire Hughes, Victoria Outram, Arval; Lynn Fortin, Fortin Services Ltd (also given Peter Moxon Award for Outstanding Training Achievement); Nicola Giles, Avery Weigh-Tronix; Lisa Granton-Jones, Ashworth Mairs Group; Ian Green, Peverel; Tim Howett, Leasedrive Velo; Laura Smith, NEC Europe; Andrew Parton, SMMT Industry Forum; John Saunders, Guide Dogs for the Blind.
