Land Rover starts stop-start Freelander

Land Rover's lowest CO2 model? Freelander 2.2 TD4, 194g/km
Land Rover's Freelander will be available with stop-start tech from next summer.
It will be standard on all manual diesel versions of the small 4x4.
Fuel consumption is claimed to be 3.8mpg better at 41.3mpg and emissions are reduced by 15g/km to 179g/km.
Low rolling-resistance tyres, a gearshift indicator and software alterations are among the other CO2-saving devices included.
The stop-start tech works in the same way as that used by manufacturers such as BMW. The engine cuts out when the car is stationary and in neutral, and fires up again when the clutch is depressed.
Land Rover has confirmed there will be no increase in prices for the additional technology.
