Mercedes fails to cater for UK market

Date: 03 January 2008

Mercedes GLK Concept

Despite the popularity of off-roaders in the UK, Mercedes' will not be making its new GLK in right hand drive.

The GLK will be officially unveiled at the Detroit motor show later this month and is being pitched as a rival to BMW's X3 and the Land Rover Freelander.

Although the GLK is expected to be on sale in Europe in left hand drive by late 2008, UK drivers will have to wait until a facelifted model is possibly adapted to their needs in around 3 years time.
