Mini heads the used value charts

Date: 26 November 2008

Mini's 1.4-litre diesel One retains the most of its value after three years according to research by Glass's Guide.

The supermini holds onto 63.2% of its £12,997 retail value, around £7798.

It's the second year running Mini has been the top performer in the residual values table, but despite holding on to the top spot in the residual values table, the Mini's performance has dropped in the past year.

Twelve months ago the car's trade value stood almost 8% higher at 71%.

Other high performers include the Citroen C1/Toyota Aygo/Peugeot 107 trio, which retain 61.2%, 60.6% and 57.4% respectively.

Further fleet relevant cars in the top 10 include the Seat Leon with the 1.9- or 2.0-litre diesel engine and Toyota's Prius.

Cars that are now out of production dominate the list of underperformers. The top loser is the Alfa Romeo 166, which keeps just 12% of its £30,000 price tag after three years.
