Mitsubishi L200 beats the congestion charge

Date: 04 April 2008

The manual version of Mitsubishi's new L200 pick-up will emit only 225g/km CO2, just beating the new £25 London congestion charge for the highest polluting vehicles.

The higher charge for vehicles emitting more than 225g/km CO2 is due to come in to force on 6 October, but the change to Mitsubishi's range is with immediate effect.

The pick-up will still be charged, but at the lower £8 per day rate.

Mitsubishi has also announced it will be offering higher levels of trim specification on the Warrior and Animal L200 variants.

The Warrior now comes with cruise control, body-coloured wheel arches and a new seat fabric design, while the Animal offers DVD satnav, Bluetooth, and a six-CD autochanger.
