Paris debut for Seat Ibiza Ecomotive and Cupra

Date: 15 September 2008

Seat is launching the Ecomotive version of the new Ibiza at the Paris motor show.

The supermini will be capable of the same 99g/km CO2 as the old model, and is expected to go on sale at the end of March next year.

Seat has not confirmed a fuel economy figure, but it is expected to match the old model's 74.3mpg.

The old model of Ibiza Ecomotive will be available until the new version's launch and is being offered with 0% finance during its run out.

Seat's hot version of the supermini, the Ibiza Cupra, will also be making its debut at the French show. The Cupra uses a 180PS 1.4-litre petrol engine with both a turbo and supercharger.

As with the Ecomotive, no performance figures are available yet, but it is expected to be in line with the outgoing model's 0-62mph time of 7.3secs and 142mph top speed.
