Porsche and TfL at odds over CO2 survey

Porsche has claimed that a report used by Transport for London shows that CO2 emissions will increase in Greater London as a result of the upcoming £25 congestion charge.
TfL never publicly released the report, compiled by King's College London's Environmental Research Group, although it is available on request.
Emissions are said to rise by 182,000g/km by 2012, taking the whole of London into account, rather than just the charge zone.
TfL have responded to Porsche's comment, stating: "We never asked for CO2 emissions (from King's College). We had our own, more appropriate testing for that."
Sean Beevers, a spokesman for King's College, said: "Through further discussion with TfL we now understand that the results contained in our draft reports to TfL in relation to traffic pollutants and CO2 need to be refined.
"This problem arose due to ambiguity in the assumptions used. As a consequence we are currently providing TfL with revised assessments."
TfL only requested a report on air quality with regards to nitrous oxide and particulate matter emissions, and not CO2.
These statistics were presented to London Mayor Ken Livingstone while the CO2 stats were not.
In order for London Mayor Ken Livingstone to make his decision on the new C-charge bands due in October, only the requested data was presented.
