Renault and TomTom announce cut-price integrated satnav

Date: 30 September 2008

Renault is set to launch the cheapest integrated navigation system on the market after it announced a deal with navigation specialist TomTom for a built-in unit that will cost around £400.

Likely to first appear in the new Renault Scenic due next summer before being added to other model ranges, the system will include a screen imbedded into the dashboard, a big step up from the current aftermarket satnav systems that stick onto the dashboard.

More details on the system will be available next year.
