Renault reveals third Kangoo variant

Date: 02 October 2008

Renault has developed an open-topped version of the Kangoo dubbed the Bebop.

While it stops short of being a proper convertible, the Kangoo Bebop features a sliding metal roof that opens to expose the rear passengers. The glass rear window also drops into the lower half of boot lid. This leaves the car's sides and front half of the roof in place.

The Bebop follows the van and mini-MPV versions of the Kangoo and will go on sale in the UK next spring, following its debut tomorrow at the Paris motor show.

Three engines will be available at launch: 85PS and 105PS 1.5 diesels and a 105PS 1.6-litre petrol.
