Seat's new Exeo to rival Mondeo

Date: 02 October 2008

Seat has unveiled an all-new upper medium saloon called Exeo aimed at the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia.

Based on the underpinnings of the current Audi A4 and VW Passat, the Exeo puts Seat in the heartland of the business car market.

"The Exeo showcased in Paris boasts a petrol in the shape of a turbo-charged direct injection 200PS 2.0-litre TSI engine. Fuel consumption comes in at 36.6 mpg on the (provisional) combined cycle, while CO2 emissions fall below 185 g/km," said a Seat spokesman.

When the car reaches the UK in the first half of 2009 expect the engine line-up to include a 110PS and 140PS 2.0-litre diesel.
