Three Chevrolet concepts on the way

Date: 23 May 2008

Chevrolet will unveil three new concept cars at this year's Paris and London motor shows.

A seven-seat mini-MPV and a preview of the next generation Lacetti will be given their global debuts in Paris this October. Chevrolet revealed the MPV will be an entirely new vehicle and not based on the platform of either the existing Tacuma or Vauxhall's Zafira.

The Lacetti concept is expected to appear in production in late 2010.

Rory Harvey, Chevrolet's managing director, said: "By 2012, we will have a portfolio that allows us to compete in 65% of the market."

Currently, the company offers models in approximately 26% of the market.

The Beat (pictured), the replacement for Chevrolet's popular city car the Matiz, will be appearing in Europe for the first time at the London show in July.
