Toyota's four new models for 2009

Date: 29 July 2008

Toyota is planning to launch four new models in 2009 all with a fleet focus, with a further 10 updates or range additions.

First of the all-new models will be the diminutive IQ revealed at the Geneva show earlier this year.

In the middle of the year the Japanese firm will launch the Urban Cruiser, a 4x4-style supermini, which was seen for the first time in the UK at the London motor show this week.

Also due mid-2009 is the all new Toyota Avensis. Toyota is remaining tight-lipped about its next Mondeo rival, but has said it will retain the Avensis name.

Finally, at the end of the year the new Prius will be launched, using Toyota's latest hybrid technology.
