Vauxhall re-styles the 'Griffin'

Date: 09 April 2008

Vauxhall takes top spot in 2008 fleet sales

Vauxhall has unveiled a new logo that will feature on the bonnet and boot of all its new cars.

Designed to be simpler and more recognisable from distance than the outgoing 'Griffin', the badge is a zoomed in version of the existing logo.

Vauxhall has changed its emblem eight times since the 1920s, with the replaced version lasting five years.

The first vehicle to receive the new badge will be the Insignia, due to be given its public debut at the London motor show in July.

Thereafter it will feature on all new and facelifted models. It will take between two and three years for all Vauxhall's models to feature the badge.

While the logo will be monochrome on all vehicles, Vauxhall has said the distinctive red and white colouring will remain for all dealership branding. The first location to receive the update will be Vauxhall's Griffin House HQ in Luton in July, spreading to the rest of the dealer network from August.
