Vauxhall reveals Insignia interior

Date: 04 June 2008

Vauxhall has continued its drip-feed of information about the new Insignia by revealing the first official pictures of the Vectra replacement's dashboard.

As predicted by BusinessCar, the interior retains many elements of the Opel GTC concept.

Vauxhall has set the dashboard lighting to white in normal driving mode, but when the 'sport' button is pressed the dash changes to red. Sport mode is also expected to change the car's software to give the driver a more responsive throttle and steering.

The interior pictures also reveal a move to an electronic parking brake for the Insignia, following the trend in this sector started by VW and Renault.

A Vauxhall spokesman added: "Many of Insignia's interior design features will provide the DNA for future Vauxhall designs."

The Insignia will receive its formal public reveal at the London motor show in July with cars reaching showrooms before the end of the year.
