Volvo's XC60 baby off-roader unveiled

Date: 19 February 2008

Volvo has revealed a new small off-roader, aiming to capitalise on the phenomenal success of the XC90.

Arriving this October, the XC60 is a five-seat small 4x4 coming with a choice of one 285PS T6 petrol or two D5 diesel engines of 185 and 163PS. A front-wheel drive 163PS 2.4 diesel will follow in 2009, with a targeted CO2 output of around 170g/km.

The new off-roader also features Volvo's City Safety system to help reduce low-speed crashes.
