VW Tiguan ups the power

Date: 03 April 2008

Volkswagen's baby off-roader, the Tiguan, has been given a new 170PS 2.0TDI engine.

Capable of 0-62mph in just 8.9 seconds, the new common-rail diesel is the most powerful in the Tiguan range.

Topping out at 125mph, VW still claims that emissions will be only 185g/km and that an average fuel consumption of 40.4mpg is possible.

Available to order now, the engine will be offered in either SE or Sport trim levels, priced at £22,670 and £23,370 respectively.
