ACFO Conference: Sneak preview of Peugeot electric car

Date: 13 May 2009   |   Author: Tristan Young

Peugeot fleet boss Phil Robson gave the ACFO conference a sneak preview of an all-new all-electric car which will be launched in 2010.

Based on the Mitsubishi i-Miev, but carrying Peugeot badging and Peugeot styling to the 'face' of the car, the car will be launched late next year and should reach the UK at the start of 2011.

Pricing is not yet set and could depend on exchange rates. Mitsubishi's version of the fully-electric car is expected to cost around £25,000 when it goes on sale in October.

However, to counter the high price, the car costs significantly less to run thanks to electricity replacing petrol, with the company predicting around 0.45p per mile in electricity cost.
